Late Night Thoughts

Today I went to Queens to pick up some things from Cheryl's old place (Thanks Chreyl!). In case you don't know-people joke that if you live in Brooklyn you never go to Queens and if you live in Queens you never go to Brooklyn. Well I went to Queens to pick up that nightstand, a set of sheets, and a curtain. I put the items into the nightstand and carried it all the way home. I wish I had a picture of me walking through the city carrying it. It was well worth it and I had a nice little adventure.

After coming back home I had chores to do. I ended the day with pilates and a good stretching session. My room is set up now and I have a little empty space in the middle for practicing and working out. It's amazing how good it feels to stretch out the body... especially with all of the walking I do now. I am doing a 21 day pilates challenge and it is already kicking my butt... and my core. I am actively trying to become stronger. I've always worked towards improvement but this is a new drive- especially as a dancer. I find myself thinking I am different in NYC... a lot is different. I am less stressed, more connected to my feelings, and more optimistic. Little things that used to get me down just aren't anymore. It's a really nice change and it makes me feel like I'm meant to be here doing what I'm doing. Not sure if I'm articulating myself very well tonight but I had the late night writing spark....

As I mentioned in my last post I'm trying to get my routines in place to keep myself consistent and working hard. I would love to share those once they're a little more set in place! I really enjoy learning people's routines for mornings, evenings, exercise, etc. they're always inspirational when building your own.

The pilates challenge is with Boho Beautiful on youtube in case any of you are interested (I know some past students read this)... Juliana Semenova of Boho Beautiful makes pilates, yoga, food, meditation, and travel videos. She's awesome and I always feel good after following along her videos: https://www.youtube.com/user/cexercize

Good night all!
